Hi!
When it comes to parenting, we tend to fall into one of two extremes.
First, we feel this compulsive responsibility to make sure our children turn out right. To accomplish this, we focus heavily on rules, structure, and discipline.
Second, we feel like we must win our children’s approval by being their friend. To do this, we limit rules and focus on having fun.
Neither extreme is healthy. Isn’t there a “middle ground”?
YES!
But the middle ground is not what you might think. What we have in our relationship with Jesus Christ goes beyond a mere balance of extremes. It redefines parenting so that it comes from a position of rest, confidence, and joy.
